Course Summary

Course Dates are 3rd & 4th of January 2026

• They can be long days.o Start times will be 09:00 each day.o Finish Times approx. 17:30 but can run on until 6 on occasion

• Course Cost is 160 Euros

You can pay this through our website (https://abptraining.ie/events ), or invoice if you prefer. In order to cover our costs, we ask everyone to pay at least 3 weeks prior to starting the course.** Please note that the 1 day revalidation option is only available via a separate course. To avail of a 1 day revalidation, you must have completed a full REC 3 course on your last cycle (not a 1 day reval) and have an in date certificate to suit. **

• As we will be outdoors (on the ground) for a large portion of it, please wear appropriate clothing.o Waterproofs are highly recommended.

o Enough Layers to keep warm while not moving around.o Ideally something you don’t mind getting dirty…...

• Regarding Lunches, We will have sandwich fodder to make lunches onsite but Blessington town is around 7 minutes drive away with lots of cafes and delis available.

• There is parking available at the centre. If you don’t see one of our team around, give Shane a shout on 0857459117 and he can let you in.

Starting 9 am day 1,

09:00-10:45 - Introduction and core foundations of REC first Aid

10:45-11:00 - Tea Break

11:00-13:00 - Hands on Scenarios (Outdoors) to introduce environmental factors and decision making. We will introduce bleeding control and stabilising broken bones at this point as well as temperature control.

13:00-14:00 - Lunch

14:00-15:30 - Hands on Skills - Bandaging, Slings, Splints and possibly Soft tissue injuries

15:30-15:45 - Tea break

15:45 - 17:30 - Scenarios (outdoors) including team dynamics and introduction to moving people. This covers Spinal management and airway management.

 

Day 2

09:00 -09:30 - Recap on learning from day 1 and any questions

09:30 - 11:00 - Hands On CPR/ AED use, Choking and Common Medical conditions

11:00-11:15 - Tea Break

11:15 - 13:00 - Hands on Scenarios (Outdoors) which includes multiple injuries, Multiple Casulties and Active decision making.

13:00 - 14:00 - Lunch

14:00 - 15:30 - Burns management, Major Emergencies and Tidying up hands on skills

15:30-15:45 - Tea Break

15:45 - 17:30 - Scenarios (Outdoors) to include 1:1 first aid and Major emergencies.
